My Gear

Hey there! In the rest of my blog I have been talking about tips for skiing, resorts, and ski shops. I wanted to just give my viewers a little window into my own personal ski life by showing off my gear. This may help those who have yet to purchase their own gear get a sense of what a good, solid first set of skis or a snowboard would look like.

My Ski Setup:

I’m currently riding on a pair of Soloman Suspect 161’s. These skis are my babies and have served me well over the past six years or so. By waxing, airing them out after use, and keeping them in a bag while traveling, you can’t even tell that the skis are six years old. I ride twin tip skis, just because I love to hit the terrain park when I am on the mountain. Twin tips are definitely the way to go if you plan on doing tricks as it allows you to ride backwards. I have Griffon bindings mounted on them, which are also solid for the park. Trying to save money, I went a little cheap on the boots. I currently have Rossignol Alias boots, which are pretty cheap boots and I would not recommend them! All in all, I am really satisfied with my setup which I put together for around $1500.

My Snowboard Setup:

For my snowboard setup, I am riding a Signal ParkRocker board with Forum bindings, all topped off with Burton boots. I mainly began snowboarding for the terrain park. Doing tricks on a board, in my opinion, is easier than skis because your feet are connected. I have not been boarding too long, but I love it. This board has opened up so many opportunities for me to grow my craft. I favor going to the terrain park because of how creative a rider can get. As you can see in the photos, I mounted a stomp-pad on my board for extra traction when getting on the lift. I bought this snowboard off of a buddy for $150 and have been maintaining it at Alpine Ski Center here in Knoxville, Tennessee ever since.
